Ingredients
- 1 box German chocolate cake mix
- 5 oz. can evaporated milk
- 3/4 c. walnuts, roughly chopped (opt.)
- 6 oz. pkg. choc. chips
- 2/3 c. margarine, melted
- 14 oz. pkg. caramels
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2In a medium saucepan melt caramels with 1/2 of the evaporated milk.

3Keep warm.

4In a medium bowl mix dry cake mix, melted margarine, remaining milk, and nuts.

5Spread 1/2 of the dough into an ungreased 9 by 13 inch pan and bake in preheated oven for 6 minutes.

6Remove pan from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the baked cake.

7Drizzle caramel mixture over the chips.

8Drop remaining dough evenly onto caramel layer.

9Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

10Cool completely.

11Cut into squares and enjoy.

12Because of the milk, this will need to be kept in the refrigerator.
