  • 1 German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
  • 1/2 c. condensed milk
  • 3/4 c. margarine
  • 6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)

Directions

    Prepare cake mix as directed and put half the batter in a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Melt caramels with condensed milk and margarine.

    Spread over the baked cake.

    Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts on top.

    Cover with remaining batter.

    Return to oven for 20 minutes or until done. Frost with Fudge Frosting.
