Bacon Salad Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 x Oakleaf lettuce
  • 1 x Curly Endive lettuce
  • 225 gm Streaky bacon, (unsliced)
  • 1/2 x An unsliced white loaf of bread A salad dressing of your choice
  • 150 ml Salad oil, such as sunflower oil

Directions

    1 Wash and pick the lettuce into small bite size pcs.

    De-rind and cut the bacon into little finger size pcs.
  3. 3
    Fry the bacon fast in oil till it is a good brown colour, remove the bacon.
  4. 4
    2 Add in the rest of the salad oil; allow this to heat up till a crumb sizzles.

    Take the crusts off the bread, cut in to thick slices and cut into cubes.

    Cook the cubes in the oil till golden, drain on kitchen paper and sprinkle with salt to draw off the oil.

    3 Dress the salad well.

    Mix the bacon and croutons gently through.

    Serve immediately.
