  • 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
  • 1/3 c. evaporated milk, plus 3/4 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 c. pecans
  • 1 c. milk chocolate chips
  • 3/4 c. margarine

Directions

    Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk; set aside.

    Beat together dry cake mix, 3/4 cup evaporated milk and 3/4 cup margarine.

    Bake half the cake batter in greased 9 x 13-inch pan in 350° oven for 15 minutes.

    Spread caramel mixture on top of cake.

    Add pecans and chocolate chips.

    Spread remaining batter and continue baking for 15 to 20 minutes.
