- 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
- 14 oz. pkg. Kraft caramels
- 1/2 c. (small can) evaporated milk
- 3/4 c. butter
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 c. chocolate chips
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Prepare cake mix according to package. Pour 1/2 of batter in a Pam-sprayed 9 x 13-inch pan.

3Bake only 15 minutes.

4In a double boiler or microwave, melt caramels with milk and butter.

5Pour this over baked portion of cake.

6Sprinkle with pecans and chocolate chips over caramel mixture.

7Pour remaining cake batter over nut and chip layer.

8Bake 25 to 30 minutes.

9Do not use smaller pan.
