  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

    Mix cake according to directions on box.

    Pour 1/2 batter into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan.

    Bake 20 minutes at 350°. Melt caramels in milk; add margarine.

    Remove cake from oven. Pour caramel mixture over cake.

    Add nuts and chips.

    Pour remaining batter over top and bake 20 minutes at 250°, then another 20 minutes at 350°.

    Frost with chocolate icing when cool. Enjoy!
