- 1 cake mix, prepared according to directions
- 1 c. milk
- 5 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 1/2 c. oleo
Directions

1Prepare the cake according to directions and cook in a 9 x 13-inch wax paper lined pan.

2Turn the cake onto a cookie sheet after cooled.

3Cook the milk with the flour, stirring constantly, until boiled and thick (like paste).

4Cool.

5Beat the vanilla, sugar, salt, Crisco and oleo until very light and fluffy.

6Add paste to this; beat until very smooth.

7Split cake and put this between the layers.
