  • 3 packages Yeast
  • 1/2 cup Warm Water
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1/2 cup Butter, melted
  • 8 each Egg
  • 8 cup Flour
  • 1 each Egg Yolk
  • 1 Cornmeal
  • 1 Sesame seeds

    Mix yeast, water, and 1 T sugar together.

    Let sit 10-15 min until bubbly.

    Add sugar, honey, butter, and eggs.

    Gradually stir in flour.

    Knead until smooth and elastic.

    Place in a greased bowl, turn once to cover with grease.

    Let rise 1 1/2 hours until doubled in size.

    Punch down; divide into ninths.

    Form each piece into a rope 18 inches long.

    Braid 3 together.

    Tuck ends and place each in a greased, cornmeal coated bread pan (or on a cookie sheet).

    Brush with egg yolk, then sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds.
