Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups butter
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 5 large eggs
- 2 1/2 cups sifted flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup less 2 tbsp milk
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- confectioners' sugar (for top)
Directions

1Grease and flour a Bundt or tube pan.

2Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time, creaming well after each.

3Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with the milk and vanilla.

4Remove two cups batter and blend cocoa into it.

5Alternately spoon light and dark batter into the prepared pan.

6Bake at 350°, for approximately 70 minutes or until cake test done.

7Cool ten minutes on rack, then turn cakes out onto a plate and cool thoroughly.

8Sprinkle confectioners sugar on top, if desired.
