  • 4 cube steaks (about 4 ounces each), all visible fat discarded
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 cups frozen bell pepper and onion blend, or 1 cup chopped green bell pepper and 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 1/2 to 3 ounces presliced fresh button mushrooms (about 1 cup)
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce (lowest sodium available)
  • 4 whole-grain hamburger buns (lowest sodium available)
  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish sauce (not prepared horseradish)

Directions

    Sprinkle the smoked paprika and pepper over both sides of the cube steaks.

    In a large nonstick skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat, swirling to coat the bottom.

    Add the steaks and cook for 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or until browned.

    Transfer the steaks to a large plate.
