- 2 c. flour, sifted
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 egg whites
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. brown sugar
- fruit slices
- whipped cream
Directions

1Sift flour again with baking powder.

2Cream butter or substitute and sugar.

3Add well beaten egg yolks to creamed mixture.

4Add milk alternately with flour, add vanilla and fold in beaten egg whites.

5Melt 2 tablespoons butter and add brown sugar. Spread in baking dish.

6Add fruit, slices or crushed.

7Pour cake batter over fruit.

8Bake in 360° oven 45 minutes.

9Turn upside down.

10Serve with whipped cream.
