- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 12 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 12 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 2 12 cups all-purpose flour, sifted before measuring
- vanilla sugar (optional)
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375F.

2Combine butter and sugar in large bowl.

3Using electric mixer set on high speed, beat until light and fluffy.

4Beat in egg, vanilla extract, cardamom and salt.

5Using spoon, stir in flour until well mixed.

6Pack dough into cookie press.

7Fit with design plate.

8Press dough out onto ungreased baking sheets spacing cookies 1-inch apart.

9Bake until golden brown, about 10 minutes.

10Gently transfer cookies to wire racks.

11Sprinkle with vanilla sugar, if desired, and let cool.

12Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
