  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. milk
  • 3 slightly beaten eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    In a saucepan, combine sugar, salt and cornstarch.

    Stir in milk.

    Cook and stir until bubbly.

    Stir a moderate amount into egg yolks.

    Immediately return to heat.

    Cook 2 minutes.

    Add vanilla.

    Pour into cooked shell. Spread meringue on top of pie. Bake at 350° for 12 minutes.
