- 3 sticks butter (3/4 lb.)
- 3 c. flour
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2/3 c. blanched, finely ground almonds
Directions

1Work all ingredients together with your hands until you have a smooth, stiff paste.

2To form cookies, break off a small chunk, a spoonful.

3Roll into a ball between the palms of your hands. Flatten into a round and you will have a circle with fine, cracked edges.

4Arrange these on baking sheet and press a design in the top if you wish.

5Bake at 325° for about 25 minutes or until golden in color.

6They complement fresh fruit nicely.
