- 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. heavy cream
- 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 3 Tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Directions

1Scald cream, all but 1/4 cup of milk and sugar in saucepan over medium heat.

2Dissolve cornstarch in 1/4 cup milk and add to cream mixture.

3Bring to a boil until thickened (about 3 minutes). Remove and add butter, vanilla and nutmeg.

4Cool slightly before serving.
