  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 12 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 12 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 2 12 cups all-purpose flour, sifted

Directions

    Preheat oven to 375F.

    Cream butter and sugar in large bown until light and fluffy.

    Beat in the egg, vanilla, cardamom and salt.

    Using a spoon, stir in flour until well mixed.

    Pack the dough into the cookie press.

    Fit with the desired disk design.

    Press the dough onto ungreased baking sheet approximately 1 inch apart.

    Sprinkle with vanilla sugar, if desired or decorate with colored sugars before baking.

    Bake until lightly golden, about 10 - 12 minutes.

    Gently transfer the cookies (while warm) to wire racks to cool.

    Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
