  • 1 1/2 c. beer
  • vegetables: onion rings, 1/4-inch zucchini slices, cauliflowerets, fresh mushrooms and sweet potatoes
  • fish: crab, shrimp or oysters

    Mix flour and beer.

    Let stand at room temperature for 3 hours.

    (Beer breaks down the gluten in flour for a light, delicate batter.)

    Dip vegetables in batter and fry or deep fry (375°).
