- 1 bay leaf
- 6 c. water
- 2 large carrots, cut up
- 4 stalks celery
- 2 medium onions, cut up
- 1 lb. can tomatoes
- 1/2 c. rice or barley
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 4 bouillon cubes
Directions

1Start rice or barley and water in soup pot.

2Brown the beef; drain and add to pot with all other ingredients.

3Bring to boil; cover and simmer about 1 1/2 hours.
