  • 2 lb. lean stewing meat
  • 1 soup bone
  • 6 c. water
  • 2 c. whole tomatoes or tomato juice
  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. chili powder
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 bay leaves and parsley
  • pepper and sugar to taste
  • 1 c. diced celery
  • 1 c. potatoes

    Brown meat in hot fat.

    Remove fat and add soup bone, water, tomato, onions and seasonings.

    Cook, covered, for 2 hours.
