- 3 c. milk
- 1/2 c. minus 1 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 4 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 3 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (9-inch) baked pie shell
- 1 c. whipped topping
Directions

1Scald the milk in the top of a double boiler.

2Mix the dry ingredients together and add to the scalded milk.

3Stir until blended and cook, stirring often, until mixture begins to thicken. Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes.

4Remove from heat; add margarine and vanilla.

5Stir and cool slightly.
