  • butter
  • 4-5 lb. roast
  • 6-8 onion slices
  • 2 cloves
  • 1/2 tsp rosemary
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 can or bottle of beer

Directions

    Butter a casserole dish.

    Place onion slices in bottom of dish.

    Place roast on onions.

    Add cloves, bay leaf and rosemary and place around meat.

    Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

    Pour beer over roast.

    Cover tightly with foil.

    Bake in 325° oven for 2 1/2 hours or longer, until tender.
