- butter
- 4-5 lb. roast
- 6-8 onion slices
- 2 cloves
- 1/2 tsp rosemary
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 can or bottle of beer
Directions

1Butter a casserole dish.

2Place onion slices in bottom of dish.

3Place roast on onions.

4Add cloves, bay leaf and rosemary and place around meat.

5Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

6Pour beer over roast.

7Cover tightly with foil.

8Bake in 325° oven for 2 1/2 hours or longer, until tender.
