Venison Stew

  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 2 lb. venison stew meat
  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, diced or crushed
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 c. water
  • 7 or 8 potatoes
  • 1 lb. carrots, cut in 1-inch
  • 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 c. cold water
  • bottled browning sauce (optional)

Directions

    Heat oil in skillet.

    Brown stew meat.

    Add onions, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaf, oregano, salt and pepper.

    Simmer, covered, 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.

    Add potatoes and carrots.

    Continue cooking until vegetables are tender.
