- 1 egg plus 2 egg yolks (save whites for frosting)
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. Vermont maple syrup
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. nuts
- 1/2 c. milk
Directions

1Beat eggs.

2Add shortening, sugar, maple syrup and vanilla; beat well.

3Add flour, salt and baking powder alternately with milk.

4Add nuts.

5Pour into greased and floured 7 x 10-inch baking pan.

6Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
