  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted and cooled
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 1/2 to 3 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg or cinnamon

Directions

    Beat eggs, sugar, melted butter or margarine and milk together. Add flour, mixed with

    the salt, baking powder and nutmeg or cinnamon.

    Mix until the dough is smooth and can be rolled.

    Place on a floured board; roll 1/8-inch thick. Cut with doughnut cutter. Gather holes and pieces and roll together again; cut with doughnut cutter.

    Cook in hot oil, turning when one side gets golden brown. Drain on paper towel.

    Sprinkle with powdered sugar or your favorite icing.
