- 6 oz. powdered sugar
- 6 oz. butter or margarine
- 6 oz. self-rising flour or plain flour with 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla essence
- 1/2 c. milk
Directions

1Sieve the flour.

2Take out the butter from the refrigerator 1 hour in advance.

3Cream the butter and sugar very well. When mixture is light and creamy, add the eggs, one at a time, beating each time thoroughly.

4If the mixture curdles while adding eggs, add a little flour before adding the next egg.

5Fold in the flour and add milk until the mixture forms a dropping consistency.

6Add vanilla essence.

7Grease and dust two 7-inch diameter tins.

8Pour 1/2 the mixture into each of the two tins.

9Bake in a hot oven at 400° for 20 minutes.

10Cool the cake.
