- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 4 medium Vidalias, sliced into 1/4-inch rings
- 15 saltines, crushed
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 to 3/4 c. milk
- 1 c. shredded sharp cheese
Directions

1Melt butter or margarine in large frying pan.

2Saute onions over medium heat until clear.

3Reserve 3 tablespoons crumbs for topping.

4Place remaining crumbs in bottom of lightly greased 2-quart casserole.

5Remove onions with slotted spoon.

6Add soup and onions in layers.
