- 2 egg whites
- 1 c. finely chopped almonds or walnuts, toasted
- 1/3 c. raspberry, peach or apricot preserves
- 1/3 c. margarine
- 1 c. flour
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 2/3 c. sifted powdered sugar
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions

1In a medium mixing bowl, bring egg whites to room temperature. Set aside.

2For crust, in another medium mixing bowl, beat margarine with an electric mixer on medium-high speed about 30 seconds or until softened.

3Add about half the flour.

4Then add the sugar and egg yolks.

5Beat on medium-high speed until thoroughly combined.

6Stir in remaining flour.

7Press crust mixture into 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

8Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
