- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1 lb. (2 1/4 c.) packed brown sugar
- 1 c. light corn syrup
- 2 c. light cream
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Directions

1Butter sides of heavy 5-quart Dutch oven.

2In it, melt butter. Add brown sugar and dash of salt.

3Stir until thoroughly combined.

4Stir in light corn syrup; mix well.

5Gradually add cream, stirring constantly.

6Cook and stir over medium heat to firm-ball stage (245°), about 30 to 35 minutes.

7Remove from heat. Place nuts in bottom of buttered 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

8Pour syrup over nuts.

9Cool; cut in squares.

10Makes 2 pounds.
