Walnut Patties

  • 1 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 c. ground walnuts
  • 8 slices white bread
  • 4 medium onions, chopped
  • 3 tsp. sage
  • 1 tsp. salt or to taste
  • 12 eggs, well beaten
  • mushroom soup

Directions

    Toast bread and roll into crumbs. Cook onions until clear in small amount of butter.

    Combine all ingredients except mushroom soup.

    Form into thin patties; fry slowly in oil for 30 to 40 minutes.

    Place patties in 1 large or 2 medium size casseroles. Cover with slightly thinned mushroom soup and heat in a 350° oven for 20 minutes.

    Serves 12.
