  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. each: cloves and nutmeg
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. soda, well mixed with 1 tsp. hot water
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 c. flour, mixed with 1 tsp. baking powder

Directions

    Boil first 6 ingredients for 5 minutes.

    When cool, add soda mixture.

    Add nuts and flour mixture.

    Put in 8 x 8-inch greased and floured pan and bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
