Warm Fruit Compote

  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 3/4 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 2 tsp. orange rind
  • 1/3 c. orange juice
  • 13 oz. can pineapple chunks, drained
  • 1 c. peach slices, drained
  • 11 oz. can mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1 c. pear slices, drained
  • 10 maraschino cherries
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice

Directions

    In chafing dish or large saucepan, combine margarine, sugar, cornstarch, orange rind, orange juice and lemon juice.

    Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened.

    Stir in fruit.

    Simmer just until fruit is warm.

    Serve warm.
