  • 1 bunch celery, cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 1 (14 oz.) can chicken broth
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 can water chestnuts, sliced
  • 1/4 c. blanched, slivered almonds
  • bread crumbs
  • butter

Directions

    Cook celery in broth until nearly tender, not soft.

    Thicken broth with cornstarch. Pour into casserole. Add chestnuts and almonds. Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Dot with butter. Bake in 350° oven for 1/2 hour. Good with fowl or cold roast.
