- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 pkg. onion soup mix
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 c. peas (frozen or canned)
- 1/2 to 1 c. raw rice
- 1 c. stewed tomatoes or 1 can tomato sauce with bits
Directions

1Brown meat in skillet, stirring frequently.

2Drain any excess grease.

3Stir in onion soup mix, water, rice, peas and tomatoes. Simmer in covered skillet until rice is tender (20 to 25 minutes).

4Add a small amount of water or tomato juice if it becomes dry.

5Top with cheese.

6Cover and heat until it melts or top each individual serving with cheese as it is served.

7Serve 4 to 6.
