  • 1 to 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 envelope Lipton onion soup
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 3/4 c. uncooked rice
  • 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
  • 1 can green peas
  • 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese

Directions

    In a large skillet, brown meat.

    Add soup mix, water, rice and tomatoes.

    Simmer, covered, 25 minutes or until water is absorbed and rice is tender.

    Add peas (drained); simmer 5 minutes more. Put mixture in casserole dish and top with grated cheese.

    Bake at 325° to melt cheese.
