Western Wheat Pilaf

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup onion
- 2 tbsp. margarine
- 1 cup bulgur wheat
- 2 bouillon cubes (chicken flavored)
- 2 cups water
- 1 orange, juiced
- Sherry, to taste
- 1/2 cup California Dried Figs, finely chopped
- 3 tbsp. sesame seeds
- pine nuts
- 1 tsp. orange peel, finely grated
Directions

1Saute onion in margarine until soft.

2Stir in wheat to coat with margarine.

3Add low fat chicken bouillon cubes and water.

4Measure orange juice and add enough sherry to make 1/2 cup.

5Add to pilaf.

6Cover and simmer over low heat for 35 minutes.

7Five minutes before serving, stir in figs, sesame seeds or pine nuts and orange peel.

8Cover to complete cooking.
