  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa

  • 1 egg
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

    Combine dates and boiling water; cool.

    Add soda into date mixture.

    Cream the shortening and sugar.

    Sift together the salt, cocoa and flour.
