Ingredients
- 4 c. boiling water
- 2 c. milk
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 3 eggs
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 pkg. dry yeast in 1 c. warm water
- about 17 c. flour or more
Directions

1Boil water, salt and sugar for 5 minutes.

2Add shortening until melted, then add milk.

3Cool.

4Have yeast ready.

5Add 4 to 5 cups of flour to cooled liquid before adding yeast.

6Add yeast, then more flour.

7Beat eggs, one at a time.

8Stir between adding each egg and then add the rest of the flour until you get a dough that isn't sticky to the touch.

9Let stand and raise.

10Knead and when it is raised, put in pans.

11Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

12This dough can be used for rolls also.

13If you wish, you can make this about 4 p.m. and put in pans in the evening and let stand, covered, until morning to bake.

14Makes about 8 dozen buns.
