  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 3 egg whites, beaten stiff
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.

    Cream sugar and shortening.

    Add milk, stiffly beaten egg whites, vanilla and flour; mix well.

    Pour into cake pans and bake at 350° about 25 to 30 minutes.
