  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. baking powder

Directions

    Sift flour and sugar together five times.

    Mix with hot water and beat until smooth.

    Add egg whites, beaten with the salt, then add vanilla.

    Sprinkle baking powder over the mixture and stir.

    Start baking in oven at 250° and gradually raise to 400°. Hold there until done.
