  • 2 2/3 c. sifted flour
  • 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 2/3 c. Mazola oil
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. orange extract

    Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until very stiff.

    Set aside.

    Mix together first 4 dry ingredients.

    Add oil, egg yolks, water, vanilla and orange extract.

    Beat until smooth.

    Gently fold in egg whites.

    Use two ungreased 9-inch pans; bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes or use 10-inch tube pan and bake 70 to 80 minutes.
