- 1/4 lb. white chocolate
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. margarine
- 4 eggs, separated
- 2 c. fresh frozen coconut
- 2 1/2 c. plain flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. nuts (pecans)
Directions

1Melt chocolate in boiling water; set aside to cool.

2Cream butter and sugar; add egg yolks and soda; beat.

3Add chocolate and vanilla; beat.

4Add flour and buttermilk alternately; fold in stiffly beaten egg whites, coconut and pecans.

5Bake at 350° for about 30 to 35 minutes.

6Makes 3 layers.
