- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 envelope Knox gelatine
- 1 3/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 egg whites
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 1 c. shredded coconut
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. whipped cream or whipped topping
Directions

1Blend 1/2 cup sugar, flour and gelatine.

2Stir in milk.

3Cook, stirring constantly, over

4medium heat, just to boiling.

5Chill in refrigerator; stir occasionally until mixture mounds when dropped by spoon.

6Stir in flavorings.

7Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until frothy.

8Slowly add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff and glossy.

9Don't overbeat!

10Fold in whipped cream and coconut.

11Pile into prepared pie shell.

12Chill 4 hours or longer.
