  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter (1/2 oleo and 1/2 Crisco)
  • 8 eggs
  • 4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. fresh grated coconut (3 pkg. frozen)
  • 1 lb. candied pineapple
  • 1 lb. candied cherries
  • 1 qt. pecans
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/2 lb. light citron

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each.

    Then add flour, baking powder and milk.

    Then add fruit that has been chopped up and dredged with a little extra flour.

    Add nuts, coconut, flavoring and lemon juice.

    Put in greased pans lined with greased paper and bake at 300° for about 3 hours or until done.
