- 2 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. dairy sour cream
- 1/3 c. white corn syrup
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 c. quartered candied cherries
- 1 c. coarsely chopped English walnuts
Directions

1Combine the first 5 ingredients in saucepan.

2Bring to a boil slowly, stirring until sugar dissolves.

3Boil without stirring over medium heat to 236° on candy thermometer or until a little mixture dropped in cold water forms soft ball.

4Remove from heat and let stand for 15 minutes.

5Do not stir.

6Add flavoring; beat until mixture starts to lose its gloss (about 8 minutes).

7Stir in the candied cherries and walnuts.

8Quickly pour into a greased 8-inch square pan.

9Cool and cut into squares.

10Makes about 1 1/2 pounds fudge.
