White House Pecan Pie

- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1 c. dark Karo syrup
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs
- 1 fluted, unbaked (9-inch) pie shell
- 2 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Allow butter to stand in medium mixing bowl until very soft. Add sugar, syrup, salt and vanilla.

2Beat until thoroughly blended. Add eggs and beat gently just until blended.

3Fold in pecans.

4Pour into pastry shell.

5Bake at 375° for about 40 to 45 minutes or until top is toasted brown and filling is set in center.

6Makes 1 pie.
