  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • white pepper
  • 1 (2 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1/4 c. dry white wine

    Melt butter in saucepan.

    Stir in flour until smooth.

    Add milk.

    Cook, stirring, until thick.

    Remove from heat.

    Add salt, white pepper, mushrooms and wine.

    Makes 2 1/2 cups sauce.
