  • 5 c. flour
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. lukewarm water
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. cooking oil
  • 1 egg

Directions

    Add yeast to water; set aside to soften.

    Heat milk in large pan until bubbles form at the edges.

    Add salt, milk and oil, then cool mixture to lukewarm.

    Add 2 cups flour; stir to make a smooth batter.

    Add egg and yeast; blend well.

    Add remaining flour to form dough.

    Knead dough on floured board until smooth.

    Let it rise in greased, covered pan until double in bulk.

    Fold dough down.

    Let it rest 5 minutes.

    Shape into rolls or loaves in greased pans.

    Let rise until double in bulk.

    Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes for rolls or 25 to 30 minutes for loaves.
