- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 1/2 tsp. salt
- 5 to 5 1/2 c. flour
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. Pet milk
- 1/4 c. shortening
Directions

1Stir yeast, sugar, salt and 1/3 of flour in a mixing bowl. Heat water, Pet milk and shortening in a saucepan until warm.

2Add to flour mixture and beat for 2 minutes at medium speed.

3Mix in remaining flour.

4Turn out on lightly floured board.

5Knead until smooth and elastic.

6Shape into smooth ball.

7Place in greased bowl.

8Grease dough lightly.

9Cover and let rise until dough doubles in size.

10Divide into 2 equal parts and shape into loaves. Put in greased 9-inch loaf pans.

11Cover and let rise until doubled. Bake 40 to 50 minutes at 400°.
