- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 c. warm water
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 c. milk, scalded
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. melted fat
- 3 c. whole wheat flour
- white flour (enough to make a satiny dough)
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water with brown sugar.

2Beat milk, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, salt, fat and whole wheat flour.

3Add enough white flour to make a satiny dough.

4Cover with wax paper and thin towel; let double in bulk.

5Knead down; let rise again and put in loaves (2 loaves).

6Bake at 375° for 40 minutes.

7By adding 1 egg, more brown sugar, raisins and cinnamon or dates, you can change this into a very delicious quick bread.

8Also can be iced.
