- 2 pkg. yeast
- 2 c. warm water
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. table syrup
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil
- 2 tsp. salt
- 4 c. white bread flour
- 2 c. hard whole wheat flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Add sugar, syrup, oil and salt. Add flour gradually, making dough just stiff enough to handle easily.

3Knead 10 minutes.

4Let rise until double in bulk.

5Shape into loaves and let rise again, until double in bulk.

6Bake at 425° for 10 minutes.

7Reduce heat to 375° for 20 minutes.

8Brush with melted butter and remove from pans.

9Makes 2 loaves.
